Undoubtedly, everyone on the web has already seen this (which I learned about from him) and by posting it now I am doing nothing but confirming my inadequacy as a human being.

While that is undeniably impressive, the fact that you don’t have the free time to undertake such a project (and you do have the good sense to not waste a perfectly delicious Creme Egg) should confirm your adequacy as a human being.

Awesome Rube Goldberg machine! Purdue University holds a contest like this every year. This is the sort of thing that makes geekdom cool. Or not. Can I have a Creme Egg?

never hesitate to post things like this. i am not connected to “everyone on the web” so i never see those things. or rather, i am connected–the connection is you. 🙂

incidentally, this video perfectly illustrates why socialism is needed. i forget why tho. my brain is fried.

Well, here’s another person who hasn’t seen it till now! Wonderfully done but obviously it’s someone with too much time on their hands.

I hadn’t seen it yet either, so you are at least superior to me (admittedly a low bar, there). How come people smart and cool enough to figure out stuff like this never run for President?

I hadn’t seen it either, so thanks for presenting it.

On a slightly serious note, I’m a big fan of your blog and I’m also really happy to hear how things have been progressing with what’s-his-name. I don’t want to sound snarky, but are you still really feelng “inadequate”? I know it would remove a hook from this blog, but if I were writing the play about this blogger, you’d be moving out of that affect, if you know what I mean. I kind of have a suspicion you don’t think of yourself that way (or at least to the same extent) any longer. And I think it’s fine to let it go. If that’s not too presumptuous. (I just want you to be happy, snuggles.)

I hadn’t seen it either, so thanks, you just made seven people feel even more inadequate as human beings than you do. If you can conceptualize such a thing.

Likewise, I’ve only seen this courtesy of you, and it is mighty impressive in its way. Still, some people clearly have way too much time on their hands…

Everything in my life pales in comparison to this. I really need a hobby.

Before you feel too inadequate, watch it again and take a good look at the apartment he is doing it in. I’m fairly confident that you and E.S. are not living in a wood paneled trailer filled with rube goldberg mechanisms.

    RIght??

I haven’t seen it before either. A brilliant Rube Goldberg machine!

Yay for Rube Goldberg machines! We had to build one for an engineering class project once (the point was really the teamwork to design it, not the machine…I hate it when schools use the head fake on me, but that’s beside the point) and they are WAY harder to get to work right than they look! God only knows how many takes that video took before they got one good run

And mark me down as another person who hadn’t seen this one. The mind of man (and woman) is a wonderful thing????
