Words I’ve had trouble remembering this week:
1. algorithm
2. exonerate
3. insalubrious
They shoot horses, don’t they?
Frankly I am puzzled: what is it that you do that requires you to use, and indeed forget, the word algorithm with such regularity? I am not exactly un-wordhandy myself but I doubt if I use it as much as once a year.
If there is an additional offense, perhaps a discretely limned algorithm tattoo would be indicated.
Insalubrious is giving you trouble? Well, I say, forget it. I’ve never liked that word. 🙂
Whoops. “Algorithm” was left over from when I cut and pasted. Or something like that. After the first time, I didn’t have any trouble with algorithm. Clearly it was a different word that I had trouble remembering, and now I’m having trouble even remembering what it was.
Oh dear! This IS serious.
What in hell are you trying to say insalubrious for, anyway? This is a word that has never been embraced by our generation.
“Trouble remembering” means that you knew the word insalubrious in the first place! Really, you should never use a word like that, since no one else will know what you mean and it will only make you sound (more) pretentious.
