When I was six, I wanted to change my name to Rainbow Jehovah.
Did your parents play along with this at all? Did they use that name at home until you lost interest, or did they just say no?
And then you grew up and became the gay god you always knew you were…
Brian, I think that, astonishingly, I had the sense not to tell them about it.
Esther, that’s a very positive spin to put on the matter.
Six is the age for changing one’s name. My daughter became “Josh,” the name of our 11-year-old lawn boy, for about three months. My son changed his name every week for a couple of months. He tired of it when he couldn’t remember the name he’d chosen most recently.
I love your name: colorful and omnipotent. You musta been some kid.
Birdie, thank you for saying “colorful and omnipotent” instead of “faggy and narcissistic.”
