Today I saw Mamma Mia. I wept rivers during “The Winner Takes It All.”

Then I went to a party where I sat next to Oksana Baiul, who was hysterically funny.

Do people get up and dance for the credits? Myfavorite part of the stage show was how all of my fellow-forty-something-audience-mates were up on their feet dancing and laughing and singing and smiling. That doesn’t happen often in life.

Is Oksana still starring in that ice-skating musical?

  3. Aidan: They didn’t yesterday, but there were only a dozen people in the theater, and I think you need to reach critical mass for that sort of thing.

    Matt: Yes.

You’re just now getting around to seeing that movie? Seriously?

Come on, Logan… The fabulous Doktor is a busy, busy fag with a new book to promote, and a fiancee in a new job. I’d be surprised if the poor dear has time for sex.

I may be a dyed-in-the-wool musical theater queen, but I have zero interest in the movie and haven’t bothered with the Broadway show either.

Hmm. Such a drab day for such a famous author. I’d expect better.

    I haven’t seen that movie. I’m a fag and doctor too. But I ain’t no famous author. I’m a to-be-famous rock guitarist! 😉

Funny, I wept buckets when Pierce Brosnan sang “SOS,” but probably not for the same reason you were crying. Loved the movie, though. A friend almost literally dragged me to the stage version years ago and I was one of the ones dancing by the end of the show.

Joel, the correct title of the movie is actually Mamma Mia!, not, in fact, Mamma Mia. I read that in the New Yorker. Which didn’t like it, starting with the exclamation point, and strongly featuring Brosnan’s singing.
