Next Tuesday, May 13, Swish is being released:

If you live in or around the New York area, I’d be honored if you joined me at 7:30 that evening for a reading at the Barnes & Noble on 6th Avenue and 8th Street (396 Avenue of the Americas).
I can’t tell you yet which part(s) of the book I’ll be reading, because I don’t know yet which part(s) of the book I’ll be reading, because I don’t know yet whether or not my father will be in the audience.
And I’m just not sure that he’s up for a prolonged discourse on the psychosocial dynamics of orgies.
P.S.: If there’s anybody who is both computer-savvy and familiar with the workings of Movable Type, would you mind e-mailing me? I’m trying to solve a problem the solution to which may very well be “don’t be a moron,” but I’d still love some help.
Do you have a book tour schedule yet? Your people need to know and plan accordingly.
You need but go to the home page of this site (http://joelderfner.com) to see my tour schedule.
Can I say “don’t be a moron” even though I don’t know anything about Movable Type 3.2?
See you on Tuesday.
I have read your book tour schedule and am abhorred and dismayed that you will not be coming to Chicago! We are a big city and just as gay or gayer than the rest of your stops (well maybe West Hollywood has us beat . . . but West Hartford! Come on!) If your book becomes a raging success and you are capable of funding more appearances, we in Chicago would love to celebrate your appearance here. BTW- if you do come to Chicago, I know a FABULOUS bookstore where you would be welcomed as the celebrity you are!
Just a note to say I’m glad to have found your blog (don’t know how I missed it) and congrats on the book!
Wish I could make it that night, but I have rehearsal…
See you May 29th!
David: As long as you don’t say it in a heckling on Tuesday.
Todd: Oh, I adore Chicago and would be there in a heartbeat–but it’s actually the publisher that’s funding this tour, not me, so I kind of have to stick to where they tell me to go.
Christopher: I do hope you go back and read some of the posts from early years. This enterprise used to be much more exciting.
Jeff: Someone needs to reprioritize.
Justin: I can’t wait.
Darn – I hoped I could meet you (again) when you come to San Francisco – but that Thursday I have to fly to Toronto, so it won’t work out (unless you happen to come to San Francisco a day earlier)
Of course, if they do end up sending you to Chicago, we will make the trek up from St. Louis….
The release of Swish is the (very) good news. The bad news is that Amazon probably won’t get it to me until May 15, which means that I’ll feel even more provincial than usual for two full days. Oh well: there’s no pleasure without pain, I reckon.
Amazon tells me my copy is on its way. I would be more excited if I didn’t have to arrange shipping from where it’s headed (Florida) to where I am (Israel).
Starbuck gave it two paws up!
