I’ve spent the last hour and a half trying to write a post in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and no matter how I went at it I always ended up in such a rage that the post veered into the ranting of a crazy person.

I have yet to decide who I’m voting for in the primaries on February 5. I mean, yes, Clinton this and Obama that and Edwards the other thing blah blah blah. But I think they’re all liars. I think the Democrats are more or less nicer liars than the Republicans. But even within the party, how can I make a choice when I don’t believe a goddamn word coming out of anybody’s mouth (with the possible exception of Dennis Kucinich)?

Here’s what I think: I think we should revolt. I think that every state and federal government official currently serving, whether elected or appointed, and irrespective of party, should be put to death for high treason (with the possible exception of Dennis Kucinich). I mean, we’d have to start over, but then at least it might take another two hundred years for the government to disintegrate into the calcified pudding it is today. And who knows? Maybe something would go differently and after two centuries we’d have devout Christians running for office who actually bothered to think about what religion means, who had read, say, Luke 14:12-14 and actually paid attention so that when they gave a luncheon or a dinner, they didn’t invite their friends or their brothers or their relatives or rich neighbors, lest these also invite them in return, and repayment come to them, but when they gave a reception, invited the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, so they would be blessed, since these had no means to repay them.

Okay, I’m working myself into a rage again, so obviously it’s time to stop writing and go buy guns.

Kucinich isn’t any great shakes, either, if you look at some of his voting record.

What David said, with the added note that the government wasn’t really any less of a calcified pudding 200 years ago.

Wait a sec, are you saying I should be put to death? I’m not sure I like that.

I don’t participate. I know I should, of course, but I can’t even educate myself enough to pick the least of the presented evils without working myself into a rage so unhealthy my capillaries start to burst. I take the coward’s way and I simply do not participate. Which is why it’s my fault that it all sucks, but they are all liars and the whole thing’s so damned corrupted I can’t bear to think on’t.

My dear, no one tells the truth anymore. Politics used to be something honorable men took part it. Now it’s a lie fest. You just choose the one who sells you a better lie. To be honest, I dont like being pessimistic, and I’m not, but there are things in this world that truly get to me. Corrupted governments and people in power blatenly violating human rights. I dont blame you for being mad. Im mad as well. Im 22… I feel like the more I grow up, the more I wish I could be 4 years again. I didnt know how messed up the world is. I live in Saudi Arabia. Last month, a girl who was gang raped by 7 men was sentenced to jail for 2 months and 90 lashes. Her lawyer asked for an appeal, and you dont get your sentence doubled then.. right? Well this judge was pissed off cuz they didnt like his ruling. He ended the appeal by sentencing her to 6 months in jail and 200 lashes. Why? She was with a MALE friend at the time of kidnapping… infront of mall. He was raped too by the way. He got the first sentence, but didnt present an appeal cuz he’s crazy. I told Amnesty Internationl about this, and the girl was granted a royal pardon from the king of SA. I mean… wtf?! You get gang raped and you need a royal pardon? What the hell is going on??!! Have people lost their minds?! Also… 3 Saudi men were sentenced to jail (5 years) and 2000 lashes. Why you may ask? Because they’re GAY. 😐

Look on the bright side… In the US, you dont get executed for being homosexual. It’s horrifying.

I say go with Obama. He is the least of the worst of them, and our only chance to stop McCain, who is, as of tonight’s Florida primary win, almost assured the Republican nomination. If McCain succeeds Bush, this country will be a sad place indeed. If we have to live through a Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton succession it will be truly an embarassment.
