N.B.: This is today’s second entry.

If I understand correctly, the Speaker of the New York Assembly, Sheldon Silver, is doing everything he can to avoid taking a position on whether or not he supports a same-sex marriage bill; he says he wants to caucus the Assembly to determine its leanings before making a decision.

If you live in New York State, then, please call or email your Assembly representative and your state senator and urge them to make clear to Speaker Silver and other leaders their support of a same-sex marriage bill, to do what’s necessary to bring such a bill before the legislature as soon as possible, and to vote for it and encourage others to do the same.

If you don’t know who your representatives are, you can go here to find your Assembly representative and here to find your state senator.

(Thanks to her for this information.)

    Fight the power, hon!

And if that doesn’t work, kill! Maim! Destroy! (Preferably by flaying alive!)

Just a thought, but I’ll bet the more effective right-wing types already know who their representatives and senators are, which is one reason they win political battles while we sip Cosmos. A little political awareness can go a long way — we shouldn’t expect much from government when we don’t even take minimal interest in how it works. Thanks for sharing the info!

    Amen Will.

Faustus: law school = 2 years. Do it. You’ve got it in your genes/jeans. Many people work their way through college stripping – it would seem a perfect fit.

    To ALL:

Until the GLBT commuity gets off it’s collective ass and votes, makes phone calls and raises hell, we are going to go no where with our government.

(uncle z takes his slipper off and throws it at all lazy glbt citizens!)
