My dog is in the hospital. Her vet thinks she has pancreatitis. I was going to write a post about how I bet the other dogs are all jealous of the blue cast she has on her right foreleg (to keep her from pulling out the IV) but I simply can’t. The vet says maybe I’ll be able to take her home tomorrow but I don’t see how when she hasn’t eaten anything since Tuesday. Today, when I visited her, she licked a little bit of tuna and turned her head away.
OH NO!!!!! All of us (Goblin especially) are sending good vibes.
She’ll bounce back.
Hope the (other) doctor is right on.
It’s so stressful … we certainly learned that. I’m sure she’ll pull through. Thinking good thoughts.
Hrrrm… well, vets usually know better than to give anyone false hope, so the fact that he or she said she might be well enough to come home tomorrow is encouraging. Hope you can take some comfort from that, and that it turns out to be true.
Fuck. She has to get better and go home right away. She’s the only dog in the entire world that I actually like.
I hope everything gets better, and soon.
You can’t joke when it comes to sick puppies. Here’s hoping she’s coming home today.
Sigh. The lives of dogs. They seem to bring out the extreme ends of emotion whether it’s glee or glum. Whispering sweet thoughts today for your poor puppy.
Oh, dear. I agree with Chris that vets generally underpromise and overdeliver, instead of the reverse. How do dogs get pancreatitis? People generally seem to get it from drinking and drug abuse.
Even though I have never seen her or met her, I have no doubt that she will be chasing rabbits and other rodents through Central Park very, very soon. Dogs are drama queens – they do that sorry doeful eye thing and then, all of a sudden, they thoroughly bounce back.
I hope she’s feeling better.
