So if on a Friday you ask a guy out for coffee for the following Tuesday and he says he’d like to get coffee but the next week is really bad because he has a friend in from out of town and final exams to grade but that he’d like to take a rain check but you’re not sure if he means it or not and you see him again the next Friday and he says the upcoming week is much better and the best way to get in touch with him is to e-mail him but you’re still not sure if he means it or not and you e-mail him at 7:44 that evening and he hasn’t responded by 9:36 on Saturday evening and then you remember the horribly sad dream you had the night before that you were in love with an actor who kind of looks like this guy a little bit but in the dream he had become a monk and so he couldn’t do anything with you but that didn’t really matter because he wasn’t in love with you anyway and then you check your e-mail again at 9:39 and the guy still hasn’t responded, does it mean you’ll be alone for the rest of your life?

It means that the next time you see him, if you’re in a car, you run him over. Then you back up. Works every time, trust me.

  2. Jeffrey says:

    Get a grip.

I agree with Jeffrey. This isn’t like you at all. Have a little more self-confidence and if the guy e-mails you back he does. If not, then move on. There’s more where he came from.

It means he’s not worth it. Doesnt look like he’s putting in much effort, why do want around like a chicken with its head cut off just for him?

    Move along my child.

Can I say ditto to everything already written?

gawd! you and angelo ARE perfect for each other.

If I wasn’t madly in love with Faustus, I’d resent that comment.

You’ve blogged about something like this before Faustus.

You were awaiting an email from a guy and you kept checking the time and it was driving you mad!

    Shame on you!

I say ‘maybe’, but leaning towards ‘no’. 😉

And I don’t know about these people saying this isn’t like you at all, in fact, it’s pretty darn ‘Faustus’.

It doesn’t have to mean anything other than what it is at face value. Unless you directly ask him what it means.

  12. PatCH says:

Yeesh. Sounds like me, except I don’t have to grade papers anymore. Thank god.

Faustus: Your blog is absolutely fabulous; I have been a fan for about 6 months now. I currently live in Brazil and will have the privilege of visiting the East Coast for all of 40 minutes during a stop over in D.C. It will be my first time there. I have a blog too but have had NO time to get into it and have not even had the energy to make a commitment to writing in it which would then enable me, like you, to write consitently. Well, that is all. Keep up the GREAT writing–I would love to see your plays and musicals. I recently wrote and directed my junior high play, presented last week, and had a great time. I hope to be a screenwriter and director as well, I have 3 written already. Why am I telling you all this? Take care and I’ll write again later. –Victoria
