Today, while IMing with a friend, I actually typed the word "thanx."
I must go blow my brains out before I descend to "thru," "lite," and "enuf."

Don't worry, even before e-mail and instant messaging people have used abbreviations like ttfn (ta ta for now) and tx (tahnks) to sign (with a pen that is).
