Am I ever going to be able to watch the Christian the lion YouTube clip without bursting into tears? Like, am I going to be 87 and watching the lion running toward them and sobbing into my oxygen tank?

It depends. If at 87 you’ve completely lost your hearing, you might get through it, unless your memory of the song is good enough to get you through (which it probably will be).

    So I guess that’s a “no.”

    Aw, kitty!

I love that all cats, no matter the species, are basically the same.

I don’t think I will ever be able to watch the clip without crying either. Have you seen the documentary yet?

I, a completely leather-souled hag, also still tear up when watching that video montage. However, the entire experience is more bearable these days, after having witnessed something at the zoo with my boyfriend last summer…

We were standing, watching the lions laze while a REALLY hot DILF brought his two small sons to press their noses (ever so unhygenically) to the glass observation windown in front of us. The male lion suddenly broke his idyll, got up, leaped over to the rock on which the female luxuriated, and mounted up. We three adults held our breaths, while the older of the two boys said,

“Cool, look, Dad, he’s gonna poop on her!”

Thirty seconds of mechanical leonid copulation later, and I’ve never been able to take the King of Beasts quite so seriously again.

I doubt I’m the only one dying to know who won the Gay-Off.

I know, Rob! – I’m waiting for my unpublished short story because I wrote an AWESOME book recommendation to friends, with cc to Joel, but I won’t mention anything for at least a year. Oh. Oops…

Joel, regarding the oxygen tube – since it’s up your nose, and you can still cry out your eyes and drool out your mouth, I figure if you practice till you’re 87 not getting a runny nose when you’re sobbing, you should be okay.
