It has been a year and eleven months since I turned in the manuscript for Swish: My Quest to Become the Gayest Person Ever. I have spent most of that time tearing my hair out trying to figure out what to write next.

Today, thanks to an old friend and a former classmate, I think I got it.

    Is it a musical about a drunken, narcissistic sheep, a couple of gay strippers, a hairy Lebanese guy and how they save the world?

    Yay!
    I’m excited =)

    Also, welcome back. I missed hearing from you. (I was going to welcome you back in German but apparently your blog doesn’t like Umlaute. Or Germans. Or possibly both.)

    @Aidan: I’d watch that.

    I am reading SWISH right now…well, not at this moment. Right now I am blogging. But, I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying the book. I am reading it on the MAX (light rail in Portland) & it is one of those books that I don’t want to end, so I am reading in short bursts. I am excited to explore your blog. You a very funny, interesting & complex man.
    Happy weekend.

    Old Friends and Former Classmates is a great title for a book. And how doesn’t want to see their past brought to life again through the almighty prose of Joel Derfner.
