A note on the previous post: I mentioned to E.S. that I was writing a post about this conversation and he asked me to be very clear that he wasn’t officially diagnosing these people but rather noticing possible character traits. Apparently it is unethical to diagnose people you see on TV. So: E.S. wasn’t officially diagnosing these people but rather noticing possible character traits.

Is it unethical because they’re real people? (Heh.) Or simply because they’re on television? Can he ethically diagnose characters who are not real people?

Wait. Can he ethically diagnose cartoon characters? (Because if so, WTF is up with that lozenge-headed baby on Family Guy? Because I totally *heart* him. Can he ethically diagnose people over the Internets? Because I REALLY *heart* that cartoon baby.)

It didn’t stop Dr. Frist (former Senate Majority Leader) from doing a diagnosis from the Senate floor. I’m thinking the Senate floor is a little more public than your living area 🙂

Is having NPD sort of a requirement for becoming America’s Next Top Model? Or is it a side effect? Chicken-egg, I suppose…
