And after all that, the ice cream maker and/or bread maker that E.S. bought me did not arrive in time for the holiday. But neither did my gift for him, so we’ve agreed to postpone the exchange of gifts.

In the meantime, here is the stocking that he bafflingly claims is more than enough of a present for him:

And I’m terribly sorry to inflict this Christmas photo of my dog A. on you, but I really have no choice:

God only knows what she’ll decide to do for New Year’s Eve.

Oooh! Knitting content – very nice. I’ve been thinking about attacking the contrasting heel/toe reality in my next pair of socks.

Pet porn! Even I managed to keep my dogs off the Internet! (Actually, your A. is adorable.)

  2. Great stocking… such a power-knitter.

Love the rein-dog… perhaps something glittery for New Year’s accompanied by a bottle of champagne or sparkling wine?

Gorgeous. And the knitting is wonderful as well.

(That dog looks like she’s going to kill something. I would watch out.)

Is E.S. an amputee? I only see one sock.

The dog is adorable, but does she really need a secret identity? I understand the E.S. business, but “my dog A.?”

    Really.

  5. Mush: Definitely try it. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do and yet looks very impressive.

Anono.Blogger: Champagne just goes to her head. I’ll give her sparkling apple cider.

Jill: Thank you. And she is.

David: The dog, in fact, is the most in need of a secret identity of all of us. The lengths to which she will go–and has gone–to conceal her double life from her enemies would astound you.

My dear, I believe we talked about this.

Owning your own domain is fun and dandy, until you realize one day: “Hey. I have a lot of space on my server–I know! I’ll take lots of pictures of my pet in adorable poses wearing cutesy outfits! It’s so much easier than writing a real post. Oh what fun I’ll have doing this.”

And then your blog jumps the shark.

At least A. is not a cat.

  7. Bob: I think my blog jumped the shark long ago, the first time I took a picture of my pet in an adorable pose.

It’s just been downhill since then.

You know she is going to get you for that. There is no way she would have donned that of her own volition.

You have done a splendid job of turning that heel. I would have expected a stocking for E.S. to have a larger foot, though.

I’m afraid that I think my children are much cuter as reindeer than A. is, but chacun a son gout, I reckon.

I’m fairly certain that any dog owned by a former member of the NYC cheer squad is fully committed to the following holiday lyric of her own volition:

“Don we now our gay aparel ..”

Fa la la la la indeed.

    Merry Xmas and Happy H.

She really looks adorable! As always of course, your A. is really photogenic. I’d like to post a pic of my dog in my blog, but Obi bolts whenever something is pointed at him.

The stocking looks great too. I wish my boyfriend( fiance now!!!) could knit something. But I guess if he knew his way around needles, he would probably be dating my brother and not me!

Really Faustus: nice knitting. I think I should post some of the sweaters I did for my collection last year. We could probably exchange some tips&tricks…

    As for the dog… LOL.

    Happy New Year!
