By the way, when I created a link in this post to what I called a “fabulous evite,” I wasn’t just linking to evite’s home page. I really was linking to an evite I’d spent hours crafting. Since no one commented on it, I’m going to assume no one followed the link because everybody thought I was posting to some lame evite page (because of course the other option is that no one commented on it because everybody followed the link and was so appalled that silence seemed like the best option, and that is a thought too horrible to contemplate).

In any case, please take a moment and look at the evite I created for the event that never happened.

Well, my birthday happened. Just not the party.

Very festive! I love the photo of you and E.S., too. Never knew he was a blonde and that you had false teeth.

I had assumed that E.S. was the other one.

No wonder the party never happened.

Evites are the spawn of Satan.

But yours was very lovely. I would have responded “Yes” had I been invited, had the party happened, had I been in New York, and had I been certain you wouldn’t have considered me a stalker had I attended.

I like that it says “this event occurs in the past.” I imagine that in some alternate time-loop, we’re all there skating, skating, skating…

Roller Skating? Oh come-on, if you put Figure Skating, a lot of people will show up. I, for sure, in my pink tutu’s.

It’s a lovely invitation. I still wouldn’t have come, though. Nothing personal, though. It’s just that in school, when we had skate parties, I never could get the hang of skating until it was time to go. I was willing to humiliate myself in public, then, but the gays are much more cruel than kids ever thought about being.

What do the pink & green signify?
    The Faustus Family Crest?
    The Newfoundland Tricolor?

The one and only time I went to an old-school skating rink, the evangelical Christian woman who dragged me with her ran over my fingers, thus nearly crunching my knuckles (she was my mother’s friend solely because my mother bought from her an exquisite Chinese table). I cried histrionically until she bought me ice cream. At the age of six, being wounded in a nearly disfiguring accident is *so* worth the bargaining leverage for sugar.
