E.S.’s mother’s birthday was delightful. It was just her, her husband, E.S., me, and my dog A.; after we took A. on a long and undoubtedly baffling walk through the woods behind the house, we all piled in the car and went to a steakhouse for lunch, where I had something called a chocolate bomb for dessert. It was delicious.

In other news, I’ve lost count of the number of times over the past week that I’ve almost told E.S. I loved him but luckily managed to stop myself in time.

    Dear Faustus,

I have been enjoying your tales from the other side of the globe. It may be just ‘cos I’m a woman – but if you love him , what’s the matter with telling him ? ( He probably knows anyway ! 🙂 )

    love Ria

I second that, Ria…when you’re in the “catching yourself” phase, it’s time to just blurt it out! Life is short.

I’ve been dating the same guy for 4 months, and sometimes I think I love him, and sometimes I think I just like him a lot.

I don’t know what will happen if I tell him I love him and then change my mind.

I don’t think I’ll say anything just yet.

Good lord. *I* almost told him that you loved him, but then I stopped myself in time. Get it over with already!

Ahem (straightens nonexistent necktie), sorry. But that makes me feel much better. Now, what were you saying?

    You know what to do.

On a side note, this is my new blog address. You have a mention in today’s entry, so I thought I’d pass along the new url (the old one was http://www.whileiwait.blogspot.com)

    I love you Faustus!
See. Now that wasn’t at all difficult.
BTW, thanks for abbreviating your dogs name. We need more people to protect the identity of the innocents. (giggle). 🙂

Actually, I’m on Faustus with this one. Until it feels right for YOU to say it, don’t. Saying it prematurely and having to take it back somewhere down the line is INFINITELY more painful to the other person than not saying it just yet.

Would it count as saying it if you had a shirt made that said “I heart E.S.?” I mean the initials could be many a thing Eskimo Soup, Even Snow, Eskimo Smooches. So you could say it without really “saying” it. Just wondering.

Stay Boy! if you’re not sure about this, then don’t say anything too incriminating(ahem!) Just wait: go with the flow. When the time is right, you’ll know! so relax!

Although there are some valid points to holding off, I just want to say this…

I know something about love: you’ve gotta want it bad. If that guy’s got into your blood, go out and get him. If you want him to be the very part of you that makes you want to breathe, here’s the thing to do: Tell him that you’re never gonna leave him, tell him that you’re always gonna love him.

Tell him, tell him, tell him, tell him right now!

Um, besides, doesn’t he read your blog?
